I have been busy busy busy with little updates around my own home as well as working on a Design Board for my client's teenage son. I LOVE designing kid's rooms because kids get so excited about their rooms and forever think you are some kind of hero...but mostly it's because the kids get a big dose of esteem when they see "themselves" in their own space and are so enthusiastic about it. Hands down, that is the biggest reward for me to see their face light up like they just met their sports hero or won a trip to Disneyland. I live for that moment and often find myself video taping their reaction for their parents to keep.
So this little room is a surprise and I won't keep it up here for long in case this guy starts snooping around on my blog/website to get a peek-he's pretty smart like that.
"High hoops and fast cars" will be installed in March! This smart kid is into basketball and cars...as you can tell from the board.
The fretwork panel is on my cabinet front and painted white.
Fretworks Designs just got a mention in VOGUE! Congrats to my friends at Fretworks Designs designs-I knew I had an eye for cool stuff! Ahem ;). My final photos are going to be posted on their site! Stay tuned! Until then, check out http://fretworksdesigns.com/blog/ for the story in Vogue magazine.
New knobs are sporting my medicine cabinet-from Anthropologie.com
I sprayed this little cabinet's glass doors with Krylon's "Looking Glass" to give it an antique mirrored finish (and hide toilet paper rolls and cat food to be honest!)
My gallery wall up the stairs was finished a while back...
I finally got my light fixture re-ordered (the first came with a chip and faulty wire) and hubby hung it. I also framed and matted the painting of the blue striped cabana's I picked up during my last trip to Dinard, France.
I managed to block print my linen pillow covers for the kitchen nook bench.
It's starting to come together...just...still...need...chairs (and grass window treatments). Don't hold your breath, I still haven't found "the ones".
I SCORED this beauty for my daughter's room at an antique store in Aurora. It's made of Deer skin in a pear green color-how cool is that!? She will get a new coat of white come spring. LOVE HER!!!
And I have been busy staring at this gorgeous gift (a Hermes Scarf) from my Belle Maman. I have always dreamed of having a Hermes scarf and am contemplating framing it since it looks so gorgeous in my bedroom. I promised her I would wear it a lot first...
I have been busy spending tons of time with this little beauty. Making cookies here!
And doing her nails.
And enjoying her goofy faces.
OH, and last but not least, thanks to my friend Heather at Ruby Crab's Handcrafted Happiness, she came to my rescue and put in the zipper (and fixed my poor attempt to make my long lumbar pillow out of the fab magenta GP & J Baker fabric I have had for a couple of YEARS) which now finally sits on our bed!
So far I am adhering to my 2013 goals to finish all DIY projects.
How are you doing?
